Puppy Power

This first photo was taken with…my…. iPhone. *sigh* I try not to post too many photos that are not taken with my Canon or another available DSLR, but Instagram can just be so handy and fun to get crafty with.  In this case, I do not mind the graininess so much.

I decided to do some sort of montage of Mauna Loa’s adventures.  We (my sister and I) try to take our loyal companion on adventures as often as we can.  Her favorite places are any beach really, preferably with other dogs. But, she’ll settle for a park on a play date. Our lovable lab/boxer mix is three years old and still has the energy of a pup. Just because she is 21 now, she thinks she do anything. typical.

“And they called it puppy love….”  This was also shot at Miramar in Half Moon Bay, CA.  By now, it’s obvious that this is our common, go-to spot.  They allow dogs, there is free parking, and it (usually) not smelly like the beach on Poplar (only a few blocks away).

I’m glad I was able to capture this particular shot because a moment later they both ran in opposite directions from each other.

I personally wish that there were more colors happening, but I really love the shadows in those three photos.

This last one was also taken at Miramar, but on a different day. Or at least I am pretty sure (due to our several visits here).

We adopted Mauna Loa and she has been very timid since we got her. She is still shy around guys and  in  crowded places, but when she is at the beach she is a whole new pup. She runs up to strangers and says hi to everyone, dogs including.

It doesn’t hurt that the beach is like a vacation spot for me, even though it is so close to home.  It’s the best place to get away, clear your thoughts, and relax. Anddd, the best photo opportunities are there. Nature does the work here, I just capture it.
