Shadows, Shadows, Shadows….they can really make a photograph great. So, I decided to showcase a few of my favorite photos that feature shadows, specifically people, where their identity is invisible.
This photo was taken in Santa Cruz, CA on the pier a few years ago. I do not know what it is about this photo, but I really like it. The colors and brightness are really mediocre but something just catches my eye. Maybe it is because I like hipster bicyclists but I just don’t know it yet…either way…
ps. I do believe this one was taken from my car (original plan not quite met, but hey, here’s one)
This sunset photograph (you know me so well) was taken at…can you guess… Miramar in Half Moon Bay, CA! I love the horizon here. The colors are simple yet beautiful and the wispy shapes of the clouds, aah, I just love it. And it features someone with their beloved loyal companion as the main subject.
This last one, yes, I know, is of a bird. not a person. I get it. But I really love it. I did add the vignette framing, obviously, but I like that editing in this particular photo. Plus, I do not have the money to afford a fish eye lens for my canon just yet. Not only do I love the photo, with the shadow of the perfect outline of the bird and the glare of the sun, but the symbolism is great. Free as a bird. Refreshing.
